Are you currently guilded? If so, with whom? Yes, but it is only a guild between all of my alts for space. My actual raiding guild disbanded roughly 4-6 months ago. It was Untapped Potential.
Why are you looking to leave? To actually raid again.
What other guilds have you been in? Relax on Vashj.
Why do you want to join Surreality? Seems like a casual, but fun guild, with expectations to succeed.
What do you have to offer the guild? What are your expectations for us? I offer a lot of experienced, along with dedication to the guild. I am a smart player who learns things very fast and has patience to learn with the guild. My expectations are to succeed over time, and have fun doing so.
Do you know any of our members? Who? I do not.
What is your current talent distribution? How, or why, did you choose it? (Explain dubious talent choices. An acceptable answer to this question is not "because I was told to by a guild member in "x." Just like High School Math, show your work.) I'm currently Resto (11/0/60). I basically max'd out everything in the resto tree dealing with Rejuv, Wild Growth, and Nourish. I also put points into anything spirit related since I recieve more spell power from Spirit because of Improved Tree of Life. Any extra talent points (2), I put into Tranquit Spirit to reduce the mana cost of Nourish. I choose not to put any points in Natural Perfection because I believe Tree's crit enough w/o that and Living Seed is far more beneficial.
What is your preferred raid role? If this role isn't available, are you willing to respec? Restoration Druid or Mutilate Rogue. I am willing to do Balance Druid also. I am also willing to respec into anything and try it.
If you're applying as a DPS class, can you explain the basics of your rotation/priority system, and why you use it?
Surreality logs can be found at http://www.worldoflogs.com/guilds/4972/. You will be held to the standard of being able to put out numbers reasonably close to ours. Do you feel that this is something you're capable of doing? Do you have any applicable logs of your performance? I would expect to be held accountable for putting out numbers that the rest of the guild is held accountable for. I feel I am more than capable of doing that, I set the bar very high for myself, I am very competitive. I do not have any logs of my performance. I have been 80 for maybe a month on this character, but I have geared rather quickly and feel extremely comfortable in this role and I'm having a lot of fun doing so.
No one has their ideal gear, and getting that gear we want is part of the reason for raiding. Can you point out any problems you see in your own gearing at the moment, and explain your plans to address those issues? As I mentioned above, I have been 80 for less than a month on this character, but I feel like my gear is pretty good for the limited time I've been here. I am using some cloth items which obviously isn't holding me back too much, but I'd like to upgrade to the leather versions of that. I know I don't have the best enchants on all of my gear either, more or less because I am waiting for upgrades. I plan on continuing to grind out badges and hopefully join your guild to better my gear as fast as possible. I know I have the skill set, just need the surrounding skill set.
Describe your previous raid experience. What is your favorite boss fight? Why? Relax on Vashj was a lot of fun, very laid back and casual. But we progressed rather quickly at the same time. I was apart of that guild during Naxx and came back from inactivity as ICC began. I then transferred my rogue and druid to Black Dragonflight to pursue horde side of things. Where I joined Untapped Potential in ICC Progression up to the LK, but unfortunately no kill. My favorite Naxx boss fight was easily Heigan the Unclean because of the mechanics. I've always though it was a fun when a lot of mechanics were involved and you actually had to do stuff aside from mash rotations over and over. My favorite ICC fight is probably the Blood Prince Council or Sindragosa. Again, because of the mechanics involved in those fights, it makes it a lot more entertaining.
What add-ons do you use? What add-on can't you live without? Why? Can you include a screenshot of your raiding ui? I use Grid and DBM for raiding and CTMoD for my setup. I probably couldn't live w/o CTMoD for my setup, I'm very specific about how my bars and binds are setup. Grid makes healing, decursing, and taking poisons off so much easier, so I wouldn't be able to live w/o that for raiding. How many times a week are you willing to raid? When are you available? I am willing to raid any night with prior notice, usually doesn't matter how many nights a week. I assume we would never raid more than 3-4 nights. I prefer not to raid on weekends, but if I'm not doing anything else I will dabble with some WoW. I am available after 3pm EST and 9:30pm EST. After 3 on days I open and after 9:30 on days I close. I am a manager in retail, so my hours are always different usually.
How do you spend your time in-game outside of raid time? Usually farming badges, doing random dungeons. Seeing how I can upgrade my gear on my main or other 80's. If I'm not on an 80, I'm always leveling alts.
Tell us about a time you wiped your group or raid. I really can't think of a specific example. I suppose when I first started tanking on my paladin and I wasn't used to everything quite yet. Rookie mistake of not having Righteous Fury on, good times. :D
Best. AFK. Ever. "afk vacation" Then leave group. I dunno, I think that's funny anyways..
Anything else? I have the skill set to fit in with this guild, I would appreciate a proper chance to play along side you fellow wow enthusiasts. Also, I'm a pretty funny guy, and mostly everyone loves to laugh!
