Application Process

Potential members are asked to apply via the guild website: http://www.surreality-guild.com.

Officers are notified via e-mail as soon as a new application is received. The application is also cross-posted in the public section of the guild forum, where is it available for general viewing and feedback.

If an application is deemed acceptable, an officer will contact the applicant in-game for an informal chat -- or, in some cases, a more formal interview -- prior to extending a guild invite. Declines will be handled in-game or via Guildomatic's application tool, at the recruiting officer's discretion.

All prospective raiders join as Initiates. Note that Initiates are not considered full members of the guild and do not receive the same attendant privileges.

Our Initiate period lasts for approximately two weeks.

Please see the Ranks section below for additional information.

Friends and Family Policy

Surreality has a tradition of welcoming the real life friends and family of existing Members into the guild. In order to qualify for admittance under the Friends and Family Policy, a player must be sponsored by an existing Member of the guild (note that the policy does not extend to Initiates) with whom he or she has a real life connection. Skill and level requirements need not apply; however, anyone admitted under this policy should not expect to raid on a consistent basis -- or at all -- unless they are invited to do so by a Raid Leader. Friends and family who intend to raid should apply to the guild in the manner described above.

Exceptions (someone’s little brother joins on a level 16 rogue, grinds to 70, gears up in heroics and suddenly rocks the damage meters – what do we do?!) will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
